El presidente de Panam Sports, Nevec Ilic afirmó: “ Los Juegos Panamericanos junior son una realidad”. Además se evaluará la posibilidad de hacer la versión de deportes de playa.
Las ediciones juveniles ya cuentan con Juegos Olímpicos de verano e invierno, y juegos suramericanos juveniles. Ahora se sumará la versión panamericana. Tras la reunión en Miami de la asociación, el presidente chileno Nevec Ilic aseguró que en 2021 se realizará el torneo continental para menores de 21 años. La sede se establecerá este marzo cuando las autoridades se encuentren en San José, Costa Rica. El plazo para las candidaturas culminará el 31 de enero. Una de las principales condiciones es que la ciudad cuente con infraestructura. Esto se debe a que solo faltan dos años para la realización.
Así mismo también se contemplará la viabilidad de organizar unos Juegos Panamericanos de playa. El continente sudamericano ya tiene su cita multideportiva de playa. Este 2019, la sede será Rosario del 14 al 23 de marzo. Además se llevarán a cabo los Juegos Mundiales de playa con lugar en San Diego, Estados Unidos del 9 al 15 de octubre. Otra novedad para América es la primera Gran Gala Panamericana en Ford Laudardale, Estados Unidos. Será del 10 al 12 de diciembre, en el marco de la primera reunión regional de Sportaccord y se homenajeará a los deportistas que se destaquen en los Juegos Panamericanos de Lima 2019.
