El jinete fue confirmado como el representante argentino de equitación en las competencias de salto en París 2024.
Tras perder dos plazas por errores cumplir los criterios necesarios, Argentina confirmó quién será su representante en los Juegos Olímpicos de París. José María Larocca ocupará la plaza conseguida en salto individual, la misma que él logró con su 8° puesto en los últimos Juegos Panamericanos Santiago 2023.
A lo largo de su carrera deportiva fue ganador de la medalla de plata en los Juegos Panamericanos de Lima 2019. Además, disputará sus quintos Juegos Olímpicos consecutivos, tras haber estado presente en Beijing 2008, Londres 2012, Río 2016 y Tokyo 2020.
Para José María Larocca, de 55 años, competirá junto a su caballo Finn Lente, representando una vez más al país en la máxima cita deportiva internacional.
