Los ciclistas argentinos comenzaron la primera etapa en el Giro de Italia

Los ciclistas argentinos Eduardo Sepúlveda y Maximiliano Richeze comenzaron este sábado su participación en la 103ª edición del Giro de Italia, tras correrse la primera etapa, una contrarreloj de poco más de 15 kilómetros que se llevó a cabo en la región de Sicilia.

Sepúlveda, del Movistar Team, hizo un tiempo de 16m 58s para recorrer los 15,1 kilómetros que unieron Monreale con Palermo tiempo que le alcanzó para ubicarse en el puesto 76º a 1m34s del vencedor, el italiano Filippo Ganna, del Team Ineos Grenadiers con 15m24s. Por su parte, Maximiliano Richeze del UAE Team Emirates hizo un crono de 16m03s y para finalizar 88º, a 1m39s del ganador.

Filippo Ganna, que viene de coronarse campeón mundial de contrarreloj en el 87° Campeonato Mundial de Ciclismo en Ruta, fue escoltado por el portugués Joan Almeida y por el danés Mikkel Bjerg, ambos a 22 segundos. Este domingo se correrá la segunda etapa del Giro de Italia, de 149 kilómetros, entre Alcamo y Agrigento, también en la región de Sicilia.
