La patinadora argentina habló sobre la vuelta a la competencia teniendo una hija, lo que serán los Juegos Sudamericanos sobre Ruedas en San Juan y los World Games.
Rocío Berbel fue oro en los Juegos de Cochabamba 2018 e integró el equipo nacional que se consagró subcampeón del mundo en el Campeonato Mundial de Patinaje de Velocidad en Tolima, Colombia.
La subcampeona mundial, primeramente, dijo que “volver a competir fue, primero que nada, muy gratificante. El hecho de terminar de correr y que esté mi bebita esperándome del otro lado de la baranda es algo increíble, es una sensación maravillosa y me motiva muchísimo”.
Además, Berbel agregó que “al mismo tiempo, no fue y no es fácil. Requiere de muchísimo más esfuerzo de lo que creía y de lo que se ve de afuera. Es algo que estoy dispuesta a hacer, no tengo ninguna duda, pero tuve que aceptar que no va a ser de la misma manera que antes“.
La campeona panamericana mencionó sobre su entrenamiento que “antes de quedar embarazada entrenaba 2 o 3 turnos al día. Pasaba muchas horas del día arriba de los patines o de la bicicleta y podía descansar por completo entre medio de los entrenamientos. Ahora no solo soy mamá, sino que también me recibí y estoy trabajando de manera autónoma pero regular entre 6 y 8 horas por día”.
Sobre el 2022, Rocío mencionó que “este año tenemos varios torneos y quiero ser protagonista en todos ellos. Lo próximo que tenemos son los Juegos Sudamericanos sobre Ruedas en San Juan, después viajo a los World Games en EE. UU. y más adelante tenemos los Juegos Odesur y, por último, la competencia más importante del año: el Mundial en Argentina”.
Rocío Berbel va a participar en las pruebas de 1000 metros, pruebas de fondo (10000 m por eliminación y por puntos) y en la maratón.
