Argentina tuvo un debut aguerrido, más defensivo que ofensivo. México, por su parte, demostró su superioridad futbolística pero no pudo superar la seguridad de la arquera argentina Laurina Oliveros.

La Albiceleste enfrentará a Estados Unidos, en la madrugada del sábado, desde las 00.15 por la segunda fecha del grupo A, en busca de la clasificación a los cuartos de final. Luego, en la última fecha de la zona de grupos se enfrentará a República Dominicana.
