En la madrugada y mañana de nuestro país, Sebastián Tommasi, Bautista Diamante, Tomás Mondino y Luciana Gómez Iriondo realizaron su debut con resultados bastante positivos. Ahora, solo queda esperar por Dylan Van der Hock.
La espera terminó. Los 5 atletas que viajaron a Nairobi, Kenia, para debutar en el Mundial U-20 de Atletismo pudieron debutar. Ante las potencias de cada disciplina, nuestro país cosechó resultados bastante positivos; más aún si se tiene en cuenta las dificultades que tuvieron que atravesar para poder competir. Sebastián Tommasi, Bautista Diamante, Tomás Mondino y Luciana Gómez Iriondo fueron los que dijeron presente en el día de hoy. El único que todavía no participó fue Dylan Van der Hock.
El primero en competir fue Sebastián Tommasi. El argentino, en la prueba de lanzamiento de martillo completó una buena performance. Luego de un primer intento nulo, alcanzó la mejor marca que fue de 65,73m lo que le valió para meterse en el puesto 9 de 12. Además, estuvo a tan solo 5 metros de meterse en la final.
Después salieron a la pista los velocistas Mondino y Diamante. El primero se quedó con el tercer lugar del segundo heat con un crono de 10.53s. Por su parte, el segundo fue cuarto en el bombo 5 con un tiempo de 10.63s. Ambos pudieron acceder a las semifinales. Del bombo 1, Diamante mejoró su tiempo 4 segundos que le permitió ubicarse sexto. Por último, Mondino repitió la misma marca que en la clasificación, pero quedó séptimo.
La última argentina en participar en la jornada de hoy fue Luciana Gómez Iriondo. La garrochista nacional tuvo una muy buena actuación. Luego de que le costara mucho pasar los 3.80m iniciales, la oriunda de Santa Fe logró alcanzar los 3,95m a tan solo 10 centímetros del podio. Finalmente se quedó con el sexto lugar, pero rendondeó un buen mundial.
Por último, el próximo atleta en competir será Dylan Van der Hock. El argentino, en la prueba de 3.000m con obstáculos debutará el viernes 20 a las 8.30 de nuestro país. Si accede a la final, volverá a tener competición el domingo 22 a las 10.05 de Argentina.
